Music Ministry

Music is a gift of the HEART. From the earliest days of our childhood we feel the rhythm of music within us and as we grow we develop in both our enjoyment and our expression of music. There are so many different styles of music to experience and communicate our feelings. Because God has given us music as such a wonderful gift, West Jackson Baptist Church seeks to use music as a tool to draw people closer to Him. We do this by:

* Developing People's Musical Gifts

* Educating People in Music

* Telling People about Jesus Christ through Music

* Growing People Spiritually through Music

There are many opportunities for involvement in the church's music ministry. From four-year- olds to senior adults, everyone can be a part of music. From choirs to instrumental groups to small singing groups to handbell choirs, there is a place to participate. As the music ministry staff we consider it an honor and a great responsibility to utilize people's musical gifts to help them in their walk with Jesus Christ while encouraging their service to God.

When God enters into a relationship with a person, He places a song in that person's heart. The music ministry desires to help each person in West Jackson sing that song. And because God is such a great and wonderful God, He is deserving of our very best. So, we seek excellence, because God is worthy of our praise.

I invite you to investigate where God would have you to serve. It would be our privilege to help guide you in your journey with the Lord through the music ministry of West Jackson Baptist Church.

Adult Music

Groups provided for adults are performing groups from large choirs to small ensembles, from the church orchestra to adult handbell groups.  Involvement in each group requires a commitment to the mission and goal of the music ministry. Smaller singing groups and soloists are taken from the larger choirs and performing groups.  These groups perform with great frequency and are involved in numerous special concerts and presentations.
